Most people who use the internet are not aware of the various classifications of internet services even though these use these internet services every day. This blog will elaborate on four types of internet services used most commonly in America.

The World Wide Web commonly known as the net or internet is the first type of internet service. This service consists of web pages such as websites, online shopping sites, blogs and forums. The net is by far the most used of all the internet services.

Email or electronic mail is the second type of internet service. This service is the second most used and on an average at least one person in every household checks his email every day. The most popular email providers include AOL, Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail.

Chat is another popular type of internet service often used by teenagers and young adults. Chat messengers are used to communicate messages between two or more people. Chat messengers allow people to share videos, pictures, files and instant messages. In order to use a chat messenger the person has to sign up with an email provider like Yahoo first.

FTP also known as file transfer protocol is used by companies to share files on a secure server. This internet service is the least used amongst the mentioned services but it is very useful none the less.
